Kerry Chimney and Boiler Services are the only company in the entire Kerry region to offer a CCTV chimney inspection survey. If you suspect you have a faulty chimney, a CCTV chimney inspection will enable us to discover many problems that are commonly found in chimneys. These chimney problems include large holes and breaches, structural cracks or failings, blockages, damages within the flue interior, and chimney fires.

One of the most dangerous risks associated with chimney problems is carbon monoxide poisoning. Nobody is exempt from the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning which can cause brain damage or worse still death within minutes. In smaller doses carbon monoxide can result in strokes, heart attacks, memory loss, and even personality changes. Your chimney requires regular maintenance, particularly if it is used often, to ensure no dangerous fumes or gases such as carbon monoxide are leaking back into your home.

A CCTV Chimney Inspection with Minimum Fuss (and a Free Chimney Clean!)

To ensure the best possible results, we always carry out a chimney clean at no extra cost to you before commencing with the CCTV chimney inspection survey. We then pass the CCTV cameras down from either the top of the stack or the bottom of the fireplace with minimum disruption to your home. We use the latest advanced CCTV camera systems with 360 rotation and 180 degree swivel… giving you peace of mind in the knowledge that nothing will be missed, after reviewing the footage we will get to the bottom of the chimney problem.

We can carry out chimney relining and any minor chimney repairs and where necessary. For major chimney repair problems we can advise you on the best possible solutions.

Providing You with Proof for Insurance Claims

A CCTV chimney inspection is often a requirement by insurance companies if you’re looking to recover the cost of an expensive chimney repair.  For instance, many insurance companies demand “proof of ignition” within seven days of a chimney fire before they will pay out on a claim. We provide a DVD video of the recording along with a full written report of the findings to assist in the process of filing an insurance claim to cover the cost of having the chimney repaired.

Chimney Leak testing

Another method we have for inspecting damaged chimneys is to carry out a smoke test. Smoke testing a chimney will allow us to establish whether or not a flue is sound, fit for use, and has sufficient draught to ensure the safe removal of smoke. It also allows us to ensure that the combustion gases evacuate out through the chimney pot as they should do, and not leak into any other areas which surround the chimney system. If unidentified, harmful gases and Carbon Monoxide could leak into your home or into your neighbour’s home.  If you’re living in Kerry, give us a call on  to discuss your smoke testing needs.
